Every Indian should know!!

Image
Every Indian should know!! Electricity is available to us at our finger tips throughout the day(at least in cities). We curse the government & supply agencies even when there is power cut of 5 minutes, but most of us do not know the effort  & courageous work  of many electricians, who put their lives at risk so that we can enjoy luxuries of electricity 24-7. The transmission lines that transfer power are subjected to harsh environments such as lightning, storms, rain etc., and gets damaged. Repairing these lines needs to be done without cutting off the supply. People who have experienced shock will know how fatal electricity can be and in Indian houses this voltage is around 220 V. Now imagine a voltage of 800000 V and how fatal it can be, in order to provide continuous power supply, people are made to work at these live voltages. for more updates visit :  https://coolhacksfactsrv.blogspot.com/ Despite having protecti...

shut down the computer.

Image
shut down the computer  : In Windows 8, Microsoft decided to remove the start button and this made it very difficult for many users to  shut down the computer . Here I'm giving a simple trick to do it very easily : 1.  First  right click the mouse  button, select  New  and then  Shortcut  as seen in the pic below 2.  A dialog box appears as shown in the pic below and copy paste this command shutdown /s /t 0  (last is zero) as shown below 3 . Click  Next  and then give a name (by default it'll be "shutdown.exe") and give a name of your choice if needed and then click  FINISH. 4. Hurray !!! Now you have created a shutdown shortcut and double click the Icon and the computer will shutdown. Simple isn't it !!! 5 . Now the Icon seems weird and we can change it by  right clicking  the  shutdown icon  we just created and select  Properties ...

Why does milk overflow when boiled while water does not?

Image
Why does milk overflow when boiled while water does not?  When milk is boiled, the water/moisture in it becomes vapour. But it is trapped under the top creamy layer of milk. So, the vapour tries to push out, spilling out the milk. In case of boiling water, vapour freely evaporates.

USB ports of your Laptop.

Image
USB ports of your Laptop. While copying that favourite TV series of ours in our laptop, we barely give a thought on which USB port to use for the transfer. And why should we? All those rectangular ports are the same, right? Well, no. Get your laptop and closely look at the tiny design engraved next to the USB ports of your laptop. Did you find any difference? In most laptops,  you'd notice ports marked with one of these 2 designs: This one above is the regular USB 2.0 port. However, this one marked with "SS" is the  Super Speed USB   3.x . Super Speed USB has new modes specially added for data transfer, due to which it is more than 10 times faster than the regular USB port provided you are using a USB 3.0 storage device. In many laptops, however, you might not find the "SS" mark. Another way to know the SS port is to check the color inside the port. USB 3.x ports are generally colored blue inside, like in this image: On ...

Image
Ever observed of p and w along with digits (0 to 9) on keypad? Have you ever observed that your phone dialler allows you to dial two letters  p  and  w  also, along with digits ( 0  to  9 )  and  + , * , #  ? On some android mobile diallers   p  is replaced with  ,  and  w  is replaced with  ;  (by long pressing  *  you will get  ,  and long pressing  #  results in  ;  ). On old Nokia keypad mobiles press  *  quickly three times to get  p  and four times to get  w . So what is the purpose of p and w? Here  p  stands for  pause  and  w  stands for  wait . Suppose you are dialling some IVRS system (assume the number as 999) and everytime after picking call you have to dial 5 with in 3 seconds to continue. What you are going to do is dial 999 and after picking up your call go to...

What’s the Difference Between CC and BCC When Sending an Email?

Image
What’s the Difference Between CC and BCC When Sending an Email? CC and BCC  fields when sending email work similarly.  CC stands for “carbon copy,” while BCC stands for “blind carbon copy. 2. CC vs BCC : When you CC people on an email, the CC list is visible to all other recipients. For example, if you CC  bob@example.com  and  jake@example.com  on an email, Bob will know that Jake also received the email, while Jake will know that Bob also received the email. BCC stands for “blind carbon copy.” Unlike with CC, no one can see the list of recipients on the BCC list. For example, if you have  bob@example.com  and  jake@example.com in the BCC list, Bob won’t know that Jake received the email, and Jake won’t know that Bob received the email. NB 1:  Someone on the BCC list can see everything else, including the CC list and the contents of the email. However, the BCC list is secret – no one can see this list. (If a person is o...

You want faster ice cubes?

Image
You want faster ice cubes? Summers have come in India. And its a very common and frustration situation when you open the fridge and find the ice cube trays empty. People who can not compromise and want their drinks to be chilled, here is the thing to do for faster ice cubes: Use Hot water. Yes, hot boiling water for making ice cubes. Hot water freezes more rapidly than cold. Also, hot water produces better quality clear cubes. The phenomenon of hot water turning into ice faster than cold water is known as the Mpemba Effect, named after a Tanzanian student who observed his hot ice cream mix freezing more rapidly than the cold version. Use BPA-free plastic trays, stainless steel, or silicone ones. Hot water can cause BPA leaching in certain plastics not rated as BPA-free. Using metal trays is advisable because of its little insulation. Why hot water freezes faster than cold water? A water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom which are bounded to...

Problems Steps Recorder (for windows)

Image
Problems Steps Recorder (for windows) We all have faced problems while trying to change some settings, or while doing some project. Next thing we do is pick up our mobile and call the tech boy (everyone have one tech boy whom they call whenever they face any tech problem) and he tries to explain us where we went wrong. Not many of us know (rarely anyone know) that windows has a preinstalled software which allows us to record all our problems in a  MHTML  file which we can mail to that techboy, and this will prevent us (and him ) from all the mobile hassle.  Here are the steps to open this software Step 1: Open run (window+ r) Step 2: Type " psr ". Step 3: psr window will open. Step 4: Click "Start Record" button. Step 5: Do all the steps during which you were facing problems. Step 6: Click "Stop Record". Step 7: Save the zip file. This zip file will contain a document which will c...
