USB ports of your Laptop.
While copying that favourite TV series of ours in our laptop, we barely give a thought on which USB port to use for the transfer. And why should we? All those rectangular ports are the same, right?
Well, no.
Get your laptop and closely look at the tiny design engraved next to the USB ports of your laptop. Did you find any difference?
In most laptops,  you'd notice ports marked with one of these 2 designs:
This one above is the regular USB 2.0 port.







However, this one marked with "SS" is the Super Speed USB 3.x.
Super Speed USB has new modes specially added for data transfer, due to which it is more than 10 times faster than the regular USB port provided you are using a USB 3.0 storage device.
In many laptops, however, you might not find the "SS" mark. Another way to know the SS port is to check the color inside the port. USB 3.x ports are generally colored blue inside, like in this image:
